I'm interested in tinting my 240SX's windows, or rather getting them tinted (seen one too many of those ghetto jobs with 5 dozen air bubbles). I was wondering if anyone here does tinting, or had their 240SX done (1992 SE Fastback, to be exact). I'd like them as dark as they can legally get, which is 32% in my state, I've checked. There's no tint now, they're all stock. So there'd be no stripping costs.

I'd also like to pop off the black crosshatch stuff on the sunroof, and get that tinted too. Would look much nicer I think. My 240SX didn't have a solid sunroof panel when I got it (used), so I figure there's no need to keep the plastic crosshatch stuff, or the mounting screwholes.

So basically, what am I looking at paying here? I don't want to get ripped off, but I don't want to drive around the state comparing prices either.

Anyway. Thanks for reading. =)

Well, I got my '92 Coupe done for about $110. Adding more for your sunroof and larger (more difficult) hatch window-- I'd say $150-$160. But that is a different state.

And if your not to worried about them checking tint for inspection I would go with darker tint. Mine is 20% (state law is 35%) but I've never had any problems -- and know many ppl with limo tint (5%).

Good luck, just make sure the place knows what they're doin.

I used to tint for a place here in florida called "AutoTrim Design"its a nationwide company, or at least used to.

for a 2 door car we would charge 119, 4 door, 129..hatch or no hatch, that was the price...and our backwindows (hatchback) isn't too difficult of a window :)

if you can get it less than that, you are getting an awesome deal.

when I tinted, I made 35% of the sale.so just remember.. the less money you pay...more than likely....the less quality you will recieve.

I tinted my car for all of 15dollars :)cost of tint..hehe.Llumar 15%

goodluck in finding a place that will do a good job... and ask to see some samples of the tinters work (like their personal cars, or customer cars that were just tinted)

if there are problems with it, (like air bubbles, or dust in the tint) don't be afraid to take it back to them so they can fix it.

I paid 220 for a light tint on the driverside and passenger windows, then one step above limo on the back three. Its the highest grade tint, not that purple crap. guaranteed for life if it bubbles 2.

most tint has a lifetime warranty not to bubble.(well.. solar gaurd, llumar, johnson...)

I'd stick with solar gaurd or llumar, the two that i've had the best experience with..

but do note..that all dyed tints (IE, dark tints, and ones that aren't reflective) WILL fade over time.
