Ok so this is the deal I went to get my windows tinted at a local place that is considered the best in the area. I know the owner somewhat so I don't think he would try and screw me. He works with 3M window tints and was saying that I need to get the carbon fiber tints which look the same as regular black tints but are different because the regular tints can effect my navigation and/or bluetooth. I am not sure if there is metal fibers in regular tints that would cause this or what the reason is??? I was wondering if anyone has heard about this or run into a similar issue. Looking for whatever information you might have.

I got the FormulaOne Tint version of the 3M tint you were quoted. We too have a loaded 3.5, so the way we looked it if we spent 31K+ on the car an extra $100 on the tint is a drop in the bucket. The higher grade tint will also help in keeping car a little cooler in the summer. If it is better for the Navi, it could be a just sales ploy, but we have never had issues w/ our Navi or Bluetooth....It's your money.....

Regarding the deflector take the stupid thing off, your car will look that much better.....trust me on that

You can check out pics of my car on the link below.

The tint film that contains metal may, or may not, interfere with bluetooth, GPS, and FM radio. I know for a fact that in my old car, prior to tinting I use to listen to a radio station that was far away...after I got it tinted I no longer got that station. Turned out the film they put on my old car had metal in it. They didn't even tell me what kind of tint they slapped on my car. But the guy who tinted my A/C told me a lot of information...

There are tints that have no metal in them. I personally have the 3M Color Stable Auto-Film, which contains no metal.

Yes it is true that film that contains metal may or may not interfere with your navigation, blue tooth etc. I have been told that film with metal does not fade like films w/out metal. Metalized film is just more heavy duty overall.
