I did a search for this, and the only info I found was a couple of years old, for a different model. So I'm looking for some more specific & up to date info.
I'm the proud new owner on an M35x. This is my first Infiniti, and I must say I'm more pleased with it than I thought I would be. I traded in a Jaguar, and don't regret the brand switch at all. So.
I don't like heat, and bright light. My Jag had some very nice metallic tint on it, that cut both dramatically. As I was reading the owners manual, it says that a metallic window film will interfere with the TPMS. The 2006 thread I found had lots of TPMS issues even without tint.
In general, I find the claim odd; I understand that the TPMS uses low poer RF, but RF ONLY travels in a straight line under ambient conditions (i.e., no synchrotrons, and I DID leave that option off my car...). So as it is simply not possible for a signal to enter any of the windows from any tire (though they could exit via the opposite windows), I don't see how interference is a concern.
So are people really having this issue? Are you M35/M45 owners tinting your windows? Are there TPMS issues?
Thanks much!
