I eventually got around to doing the tint on a good tip from a neighbor on where to have it done... The shop did an excellent job... I had all the windows done in 5%. It was absolutely wonderful having the car a bit cooler and easier to cool down with the AC. But shortly after I started enjoying the tint I was pulled over by the SP. The young officer was expecting a much younger person behind the wheel... lol...
anyways several LEO`s were patrolling the road work areas and I was being asked to remove the tint from the front windows... Sadly I did remove the tint... The coupe did look awesome with all the windows tinted..! :dblthumb:

Yeah that was one of the first things I had done to my car. I started with 30% all around and went down to 15%. Finally got my first ticket for tint last month. Big this is if you see a cop roll down your windows. I would go much lower that 15-20% tint and dont drive to crazy or you will get pulled over a lot for it!

I have 35% and I hate it. it looks good from a distance but when you get up close you can still see inside it. you should go 20%all the way around

lol... no no no, C`mon, have some sense :lolling: , no tint on the front windshield, I should have said that, or maybe not... ooof...lol...
I think if you have out of state plates that allow that then it is legal. My neighbor has his windshield done but registered out of state, so they don`t harass him at all...

my explanation to the officer got me out of a ticket bc I was truthful. didn`t want to push it and try for round 2...lol...
our other Nissan is done all the way around except for the windshield with 32%. so far so good, they don`t give us a second look...

I drive a white coupe. I plan on getting 20% all the way around, because that is the legal amount here in Texas. Im pretty excited to get it. What brand would y'all recommend? 3m? formula one? or any others?

I have got 3m and they guaranteed it for as long as I own my car. If anything goes wrong with it they said they will replace it free of charge at any 3m dealer. just costs a little more than the other films but i felt it was worth the extra 20 bucks

The dealer put 35% on mine when the person before traded it in. As nice as it is (compared to no tint) I want it taken off and 20% put on...sometime before summer

HAHAHA! thats bad a**.

$200 seems like a lot for having a very small amount of windows, compared to a sedan.
Is this what some of the rest of y'all payed???

Mine were $175 when all was said and done. Could have had it for $100 cash from a different guy, but felt like supporting the guy who wasn't a d!ck and also provided decent stereo/wheel service. Think I might go and buy my Motegis from him, too.

Mind if I see a pic of %50? I live in Jersey so I don't want to push it because it's already illegal no matter what percentage. :tisk:

This is true, I live in NJ also, and with all the road construction going on and having to slowly pass the staties, they are looking to make some extra coin!... good luck. I had to remove the tint from the front 2 windows :frown: oh well...

The popo pulled out after me like I robbed a bank, man was he surprised not to see a kid behind the wheel!... he let me go with a warning and a promise to remove the tint asap...

6speed where are ya in NJ? we have a good reasonably priced place around here... they did both my Nissans, very very good work...and top quality tint...
