Window tint and Navigation?

I had 20% metallic put on all my windows except my rear because i heard that is the one that has the nav antennae by it. I have Carbon on the rear. But my nav system is driving me nuts. It hops all over the place and hardly ever shows me in the right spot. It also tells me i have arrived at my dest when i havent. Has anyone else had this problem and do you think its the tint. It is geting very frustrating. I was told it wouldnt be a problem and im thinking that the tint is. Any suggetstions before i take it off all the windows and put carbon on all of them. Which wont be cheap. Thanks

It sounds like when the tint was installed it overlapped the Dot Matrix on the window. I know that when I had mine tinted the guy I used was well aware of the problems that it would cause. I actually have a piece of black Vinyl material at the top on the rear window. That is the only way they can do it on the rear window of the G and not cause havoc with the Navigation. I'm not an expert but I would be willing to bet this is your problem. I have had no problems with the Navigation on my car. I would take it back and tell them to try it again. He obviously doesn't know any better and why pay for it twice when it was the installers lack of knowledge/experiance? The tint on my rear side windows is the same. They didn't overlap any of the Dot Matrix on the windows. Good luck! -Parker
