HI All,

So I took my 2000 nissan pathfinder to a shop to get a brake fluid flush and check pads, rotors etc, which is all good but I also had them check my power windows to find out why they are not going up or down on the passenger side.

He came back with that the switches are shorting out and need to be changed. He also did mention that even though the driver side is working fine (because the master does control everything fine still and the rear window on the driver side has no issues) that all 4 requires to be changed. A total cost of 529.28 with labor (not including taxes in Toronto)

Questions

1. Does all 4 require to be changed even though 2 work fine?
2. Has anyone ever changed their switches and is it hard to do?
3. Anyone know the part numbers or can direct me a good site that can give me that information?

Thanks

ExVin

I am in kinda the same boat my rear window switches are broken and need replacement. I already ordered one for $10 and ill let you know how it goes as far as having to replace all four but I think you shouldn't have to. They are easy to replace and takes only a few minutes. $500+ is way too much check Ebay I saw all four of my switches for my QX4 for $75 so just do some digging.

Yeah very expensive if you get them new. I got lucky and found one for $10 I still need one more so I am gonna keep my eye out for a deal. I am not trying to pay more then $25 a switch.

If the switches on the passenger side do not work on the respective door, neither will the driver master switchpack for those windows. You can plug in the driver's rear switch in to both passenger side doors to verify whether it's the switches' fault or not.

Went to the junkyard to get a new window and I found a switch I needed I just installed it and window works great. So you don't need to replace all four at once.
