I was wondering if anyone else is having window regulator issues. Our 2013 Nissan Rogue has had the passenger side window regulator replaced once and the drivers side twice but it has failed again and we are arranging replacement. The first one on the drivers side failed at 4,800 miles. It's out of warranty and the dealer wants a fortune to change it so we are getting one on Ebay and having a friend put it in. The car only has 47,000 miles on it. Is anyone else experiencing this ? We rarely put the window down in the winter. Any input on this will be appreciated.

The window regulator should be going bad at all, especially with that age and mileage. I never experienced this issue, so I cannot say. Best bet is to find out what is causing the window regulators to fail prematurely and then see if that part can be replaced so that the window regulators won't fail anymore.

As far as the regulator goes there doesn’t seem to be a lot of failures with those, although a search does turn up a few. I would say something else is going on that causes repeated failures of the same part. I would assume the dealer is using oem parts, so maybe a cheap aftermarket Chinese part will work better. Just don’t hold your breath.

Is there any possibility that the dealer is using aftermarket parts?

Topic edited. You had two completely different problems that needed to be addressed separately, so I've split them apart.
One of the biggest reasons power windows fail is because of snow and ice, says Al Karam, owner of Classic Automotive Repair in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

"It freezes the door glass to the frame around the windows," Karam says. "The window regulators are not made to break ice free, and it prematurely wears out the window regulator mechanism."
One thing I do is to exercise them. I noticed that they tend to bind/break after staying closed for a while... Like the passenger side or the drivers side rear. If you break the seal and open/close them once every couple of days they never get stuck. You will go through less regulators.
