My G35 window will go down but only half way up when I press the button. At first I had to strike the door and hold the up button to move it. It finally stopped all together. I disassemble the door panel to check out the problem and reassembled it. I hit the up button and it would only go up half way and want to go back down. I wanted to know if this may be the regulator or the motor. Whatever it may be your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Is it only the driver's side or passenger's as well? Fuse perhaps?

what year, how many miles?
i'm over 100k and no window issues. Had a 02 Altima that the motors all went out on in 03?

When you took apart the door panel did it look like the track or the arm was contacting something or that either was broken?

When you hold the window switch can you hear the motor? Could be the switch?

Its a 2004 with approximately 113000 miles on it. I couldn't really tell if anything was off track, didn't seem to be. And yes I could here the motor when I moved the window. It didn't seem to be in a strain. It just wants to go back down after it gets half way up

My dealership charges a consult fee of $139 to tell you what is wrong if you let them fix it the fee is waived. I would think you might do that. If you go to a Infiniti dealership you will have a nice G37 loaner to drive while yours is being fixed/examined. If you go to a Nissan dealer you may save some coin.
Anyone telling you what is wrong over the net is just going to be guessing. You've ruled out the switch and fuse. My guess is something is wrong with the track/arm/mechanism

The regulator has gotten loose and is only making partial contact with the track. There are 3 bolts in a triangular shape behind the door insert. More than likely one of those is loose. If not, check the two track bolts towards the top and bottom of the door.

These same things were happening to me. I thought it was a faulty motor. Turned out to be a loose motor. Tightened and voila.
