It is begining of winter here in utah and the past three mornings i have walked out to my car and the windows have either rolled half way down or all the way down. when the temperature is 28 degrees this is unpleasent. i have a u-1000 and u-1001 code coming from a check engine light could that have something to do with it or could it be my keyless entry. any help before friday would be great cause we have a 4 day snow storm coming in starting saturday. i took the battery out of my keyless entry to see if it does it tonight.

The CAN-line errors could be related...they're very general errors so it's hard to say. But if it still happens with the batteries removed from your key fob, I'd suspect they CAN-line issue is the cause. If that is the case, the CAN-issue may be something as simple as a window controller. Not necessarily cheap, but not difficult to track down.I'd definitely recommend having a Nissan or Infiniti dealer run a system check on the car with a Consult. That'll give you more useful details. Tim Dahle in Murray did it for me for free.

In the meantime, until you sort it out:Have you tried setting the window lock button? I know that won't help for the driver window but it's worth a try for the other 3.

Or if all else fails and you don't have the issue resolved before the snow hits, you can always disconnect the harness connectors at the power window buttons. That will prevent the windows from working at all. You may only need to disconnect the driver door connector to neutralize all 4 windows. Problem there is you'll loose your power lock control as well. But at least you won't be getting your car snowed in...

Bad timing for sure.

I'm glad we're finally going to be getting some snow. As far as I'm concerned, if it's going to be under 30 degrees there should be snow on the ground.
