My driver's window and right rear window were not working so I bought regulators for both of them. The regulator was broken on the driver's door, but after replacement it really drags (slow) going up and down. The regulator on the RR seemed fine, but the motor seems kind of weak. The tracks the window rides in seem to cause the window to drag going up. It goes down OK. On the driver window it seems like something is binding about half way up because after it gets past the middle the window speeds back up as it nears the top.

Any ideas are appreciated.Do the motors get weak or just die?Do the windows just need adjustment?

Thanks in advance,Jmanolinsky

Can you tell if the tracks are dirty? Maybe cleaning them would help. There are a lot of guys parting out their old Q's o nthis site. You might get a new motor, and see if that helps. I had to get the dealership to oil my window tracks on my 1992 Maxima right after I bought it in 1993. I guess dirt and crud had the tracks all gunked up. I ma not sure what kind of spray they used.

I replaced the driver's regulator about 2 months ago. When I tighten down the screws, I tested the window before I put the door panel on. The glass slowed down, just as you say. I noticed the glass didn't go all the way up. The regulator has play when the screws are loose. Put the regulator in the full up position and pull the glass up until it stops and tighten the screws. I guess when I did that, it aligned the glass better, hence making the window work up to normal speed. It worked for me. I hope you haven't put your door panel on.

I had to button everything up for a trip I was taking. It is really frustrating to have to take it all apart again. I just want to get it right this time. Does anyone know the name of a member here with a motor available?

Thanks,Jmanolinsky

What, your motor is busted, also?

I am not sure if the window motors are good or not. One is probably OK, the other one may likely need replacing. Both will run, but sometimes won't close the window without physically helping it up.
