ok, now that the weather is nice, i would love to be able to lower my driver side window. i have gone through all the threads about window problems and tried a few things, but i can't figure the problem out. the motor will work with direct power from the battery, my question is, can i just wire it directly from the switch and bypass the amp without any problems? the switch is sending power to the amp, and the amp clicks, but it doesn't power the motor after that and i'm getting really tired of having the window stuck up all the time.

You'll burn out the switch in short order if you bypass the amp. I would just replace the amp and call it a day.

Are you sure it isn't a bad switch, though?

Sounds like the issue is in your wiring then. Make sure there aren't any broken wires dangling about. I've found that the harness that spans the door to the chassis sometimes will let the grounds get broken.
