It's probably pretty safe to say that the most popular 350Z DIY on NICO covers how to disassemble your door panel and clean or replace the window motor.

Well, I finally needed it. Happened on one of the first warm nights we had down here in the Appalachians, I had pulled up to a take out window and couldn't hear the speaker over traffic and when I went to put up the passenger side window it didn't move an inch. :frown: To make matters worse it was on my way to work...and I was working at night. I covered over my window with a semi-rigid plastic sheet and some packing tape and let my crappy attitude run on over through the rest of my work day - at least it was the last day I was working this week. I did some price checking online for motors but was hoping that my current motor just needed some attention...money wasn't the issue, I just didn't want to have to deal with the downtime. I got home printed out the webpage and had at it, but the window still didn't move

Now most people that have read my troubleshooting posts will know that I always say "check the simple stuff first", so keep this in mind when I tell all of you that before you go taking your passenger door apart to fix the motor...make sure the lockout switch on the driver's side isn't pressed. :squint: :rotfl

LOL, I've never gotten to the point that I took the door apart, but there have been a couple of times on the S14 that I was about ready to! My other 2 cars don't have a lockout switch and I forget to check it.

I think all Nissans lock out the driver controls as well. That's how my Max and Q were, anyway. Well, the Q might not count because it had that stupid BMW-style layout with the window switches all scattered far apart on the shifter surround, so the driver controls were also within reach of the front passenger.

My Lincoln locks out all 3 passenger window controls, but not the driver's set, which is nice.

I did the same thing on my Laurel. Luckily, when I took it to the shop I frequent, the first thing the owner did was check that button. Problem solved. Only cost me a canned coffee...lol.

My mother-in-law's Crown has that switch, but when it's engaged, the driver can still raise/lower the other windows. It's cool, especially when someone (me) farts. I'll lock the window switch, roll up the window and watch the reaction as I try to not crash from laughing hysterically. Then I crack the window just a tiny bit to let some fresh air in. LOL
