Hey NICO guys. I just picked up a 97 Q a little while ago (I sold the 91). 69,000 for $8500. I'm loving it!! Great interior, a few nicks in the paint from road wear other wise excellent. Oh by the way, thanks for the FSM info Wes! Here is the problem, all my driver door window switches don't light up. The window lock one stays dark. Has anyone ever dug into the led door switches for these Q's yet? I've seen write up's for Maxima's but I don't know if the Q uses the same type of led.

Please lend me a hand. Thanks.

Theyre gonna be the same as the maxima.. They are behind all the switches..

You can get a handful of them from Joe for a cheap price...

What about the dash lights, spedo and such. Has anyone ever tried to go brighter. Might be something to do.

Actually, the driver door window main switch isn't illuminated from under the switch. The only light source it gets is from a bulb light a couple inches above, hidden inside the door. Try to hit on it because the connection might goes loose once in a while. I have to hit the door once in a while to turn it on.

Yeah, the drivers door window swithces are lit from above, as Duy stated. It's part of the Y33's ambient lighting, like the pin-light that shines down on the shift area, very cool IMO.

Yeah you geys are right about the pin lighting. However there are also three led switches; The window lock, the auto window switch and the door lock switch. My auto window switch light used to work. Now there no light at all. The other two still light up. I want to fix the dead one, but while thinking about it I said why not go brighter. I mentioned b4 about a maxima write up on the net to change the stock green led to bright white and blue. I want to do the bright blue but I was worried about not matching the rating of the new led's for the Q. the last thing I want to do is blow any fuses in my baby.

I'll look for the maxima write-up and post the link.

You are right, Jamel. I never know that the switches was illuminated from within. My windows lock switch isn't lighted up, so I guess the bulb is burnt out. I think the illumination sources for those switches aren't LEDs. hence the white color. Nissan tends to use conventional buls with blue caps to make white color. Adding LEDs or replacing conventional bulbs with LEDs would hardly make any trouble since LEDs draw very little power. I'll play with the switches in a few days to see what I can do with them.

Sounds good. Let us know what turns up. I had to put that project on hold as i'm installing a h.i.d. kit this week. Also studying the diagrams to allow my fogs to be independant of the headlights. Will post results.
