hey guys,

the power windows on my 240 just messed up on me today. it seems the window will only roll up on one side. In other words, when the window tries to go up only the edge closest to the hinge moves up.

i haven't taken out my door yet to see what's actually causing this to happen (could it be the guides or something else).

if it's the guides i can just adjust them. i think i can handle that myself. (hopefully)

but if the window isn't stuck to the arm that pushes it up then what should i use to stick it back on? i had a friend with the same problem on his crx (glass became unglued). he tried all types of glues and none of them worked.

so my main question here is what kinda glue works to stick my window back on and were can i get it.

thanks for the help,Jimmy

your right KA.

They are not attached with glue which is great. (nice to know nothing in my car is held on with glue.)

It's a special bolt or screw that goes thru the glass with 2 plastic washer and 2 metal. Anyways, this i really crazy but the screw/bolt actually broke!

I have a service manual and nowhere in the thing does it mention the bolt, how exactly it's screwed on, or most importantly the part number for the bolt.

Has this happened to anyone? does anybody know the part number for the bolt? or will nissan make me buy a whole new piece of glass with the arm?

Duct tape. Just replace whatever is causing the problem with duct tape.

Duct tape, that sh*t 'll fix anything.

sorry to bring this back up but this exact same thing happened to me a few days ago. the bolt attached to the glass broke off in two. now the back end of the window is being held on by tiny piece of the bolt left. how do i go about in taking off the broken bolt and replacing it? w/o damaging the glass, of course. any help would be greatly appreciated.

skwertle: how did you fix this?

thanks

haven't been online lately so i apologize for the late reply. it' been awhile but i bought a long bolt and cut it with a dremel to the lenght i needed and then with a locking washer and a wingnut. I used a wingnut since it's a really tight fit and i couldn't get a tool back behind the glass.

I hope you still have the 2 plastic holders for the window. without it your kinda screwd
