window chrome trim

i was wondering if their was a way to get the bling back from my chromeish window trim? its kinda faded i didnt know if this was a problem or what not thanks for the info..

best way to do it is with a buffing machine. the trim peices are held on with two screws, one by the mirror, the other at the other end. i dont remember if you have to remove the door panel or not to get to em. no its to high you shouldnt have to!

if you dont want to go this route, you can just get some good metal polish, some used for stainless steel would be best. and plenty of elbow grease.

then if you want to go crazy as some of us retards do, seal em with polyeurthane. that take care of them

Wouldn't this (steel wooling) open it up to more corrosion?

The PlastX and Powerball mini combination worked extremely well on mine.

I assume you removed the trim first? Did you hand hold the trim pieces when you buffed them? Could you post some pics?

I polished them while on the car... the powerball Mini was small enough that I could be a little bit precise about the trim. And, I just kept the portion of the ball that was off the trim touching the window rather than the paint.

The PlastX can't really do any damage to the glass, but it can to the paint. So, just avoid the paint and you should be fine.
