Absolutely, for both of the above paint jobs. Wasn't even willing to risk a peel in the future. (Good point here for those of you interested in doing paint work in high temp areas .....jaxCoupe08 wrote:Good job, I hope you used high temp primer because it holds up better in extreme conditions.
Whats so coupe specific about it? other altimas dont have calipers or engine covers? is the application different? I didnt move the thread (someone else did) but lets keep on topic please.08altima35 wrote:pictures of the coupe are in a way coupe specific. bad call on the thread move in my opinion. this thread goes for all gens - coupe and sedan

Wind- i see NISSAN reflecting off the inside of your wheel in the first pic, is the inside of your wheels painted glossy all the way thru to the other side?! My gloss paint ends at the face of the wheel.
The paint itself was Dupli-Color Red Caliper Paint. Three coats of paint does real well. At first I was scared the color was off, but after drying it changed to the red I wanted.maxentropy wrote:Wind, as always, great work man.
Mind sharing what paint you used for the calipers again? (I think you mentioned it before a while back)
OK, Stillen Lip is finally on, and the mustache is back in place also. Turns out the paint guy got confused on the burger so he's in the middle of a redo on it. Should get it tomorrow.Altima_Coupe wrote:wind, did u install the front lip yet?

Thanks for the link. i will b ordering a set. i think they look great on your calipers. what do u mean when u said u outlined it in clear coat?windhaven wrote:
Matt,
Here is a link to the Nissan Lettering I purchased on eBay. My original purchase was already deleted from the site so I tracked down the same guy from before.

Hope this helps,-- Wind
Basically, I took some modelling clear coal paint and set a thin line in the edges of the letters. This way the letter will resist peeling a bit more than if they were just layed on top of the caliper paint.Altima_Coupe wrote:

I should have the Burger tomorrow barring any more screw-ups. Once on, i'll update the pics.Altima_Coupe wrote:Wind, the stillen lip looks freakn sweet. u gotta post some pics from a distance of the front and from the side. post burger pics asap. ur ride looks great bro!!
The burger is attached to the grill by 4 plastic clips, basically pressure clips. If you can get your hand down to it you can push it out with a bit of effort. Unfortunately, due to the upper part of the bumper, those with large arms will find it pretty uncomfortable. If you have short arms, you're screwed (as in, start unscrewing the bumper.LegendRacer wrote:how do u remove the burger? do have to take the entire bumper off and go behind to unclip it?
Nothing yet, the shop rushed the burger leaving it in no condition to mount. I told them to redo the job.Colton92 wrote:Windhaven do you have any updates on your paint status?
