All,

Just got the burger back from the shop, they couldn't do justice to the black lettering so I had them completely white out the whole thing. My question is, "What do you think?".

The outlines of the letters are there, not hidden. It was a good attempt, I'm 50/50 on using it.

Please give me your thoughts ....

I voted no only because the lettering isn't black. I don't think it'll look good on the car all white. It's hard to tell from the pic, and not actually seeing it in person. But, there's gotta be some way to get the letters blacked out. Then I think it would look sweet. I'm guessing it would have to be hand painted with a fine brush or something.

Looks OK to me?

Post up some pics of the car and grille. Is it the OEM grille?

put it on the car and take some pics for better opinions.

Looks nice, but the black lettering really would make a huge difference. AppleBonker's idea sounds good - grab a fine brush from an arts and crafts store (one used for painting models) and some black paint (again for painting models) and you could brush it in yourself.

couldnt you cover the letters in a strip of masking tape and then pressure nback and forth to push the tape in the letters?

then its a razor blade to cut them out and peel the letters up and a paint brush away from having the letters whatever color you want,

I honestly cannot tell how deep your "burger" is but worth a try if you have it all white.

OK guys,

I'll mount, take pictures, then follow with a possible painting of the letters.

Thanks a bunch,-- Wind

Looks better mounted than by itself, but I still think you should make those letters pop with a little bit of paint.

Ok, after seeing it on the car, I like it better. I still think the letters need to be done to make it stand out a bit more. Also, the body shop looks like they didn't do the greatest job color matching. I would not go with red lettering since it looks like the burger is already red in comparison to the car (and red lettering would exaggerate this). Just my $0.02

All,

After trying the hand lettering this turned out to be a bust. There just isn't enough definition in the lettering to keep the lines clean. So I'm going to pass on this mod till I get a better method.

Yeah its hard to do you really need to tape off the letterin order to make it work. Doing this takes forever as well as being a PITA.

To funny I just painted the chrome emblem for my engine cover and was trying to decide what to do. I think I'll goto a art store and get a brush though. THe last time I tried filling in the letters (my xbox360) it came out horrible but these letters are bigger. Maybe I'll just mask the whole emblem then stencil out the letters then spray paint. Lemme know if you use a brush I'll be deciding on mine tomorrow.

All,

FYI, I dropped this after realizing that there was virtually no way to do this in a real clean way. I took a shot at it by hand. Since I still have it I'll post a pic soon.

I have been thinking about doing something to the burger, I dont know what, but something. I think it is a little too noticable as just plain silver. Maybe paint the entire thing black except the letters.

Ok, I shouldn't be saying this because it is only 80% certain...but I am pretty sure the letters are already black. So, if you painted the whole thing, you would have to paint the letters a different color...you couldn't just omit them.
