Just wondering if this car was built aerodymaticly or not. When I put the rear windows down I get a lot of wind noise and it sounds like I have a flat tire. Is there anyway to stop this? Will get those plastic rain guards help?

I'm not sure that this is only specific to the Rogue. I've owned previous cars before that had a lot of wind noise when the rear windows are down.

I open up the moonroof and that takes away a huge amount of noise. Of course if you don't have a moonroof I don't know what to do.

There have been several reports of noise issues with the rear windows rolled down. Basically a thrumming noise, it's quite loud. It's a common problem with other cars too, not just Nissan. I can think of at least 3 other cars I've driven with the same problem: 1987 Honda Accord, 1999 Ford Escort Wagon, 2002 Mazda Protege.

As for solutions, there is no permanent fix. you can try playing with different window positions, crack the front windows open a bit, etc. I have not heard of anyone trying window vent visors as a solution, but it may work.

Yeah, as others have said ... wind buffeting is not specific to any car.

My experience has been to crack the front window open and it will reduce/eliminate the buffeting. Of course, once I'm driving fast enough (over 55), I either use the a/c OR crack open one front and one rear window (diagonally) for ventilation.

It's not wind noise, it's the propellers on the roof turning.

Every new 4 door vehicle has this noise.

I'm not sure anyone tests aerodynamics with the windows down.

off topic, but why do they call it a moonroof on the Rogue? It should be called a sunroof. A moonroof is one that doesn't slide open or open at all.

Dunno. I always call it a sunroof, but wanted to use the technical term here.

Technically:a moon roof tilts and not open all the way.a sunroof only opens all the way.

The Rogue does both so I quess they called it a moonroof.

My take is if the sun is out and the glass roof panel is open, it's a sunroof, if the moon is visible at night and the glass roof panel is open it's a moonroof!!
