Hi there, please read my post with photos, full description of my discovery of the source of the noise and my successful fix. It sounds like the exact noise you are describing, just follow my fix and it should solve your problem.

Thanks for the feedback. I am usually pretty good troubleshooting wierd noises and the door seal theory was not on my list but I can't ignore your results and will try your solution. I would have bet my last dollar on the mirror but after looking at your pics it does line up with source of the sound and is adjacent to the mirror. I will definetly try. What type of seal did you finally use??

I send my rogue in to Nissan Dealer today, Able to simulate the "Wooo" sound to the nissan tech.. He narrow down the root cause of the "woooo" noise to my windshield. Recommend to do a RESEAL for my windshield.. I m now waiting for the glass - guy to do a reseal.. hope it will work!

For all those with the "wooooo" noise, I'd highly recommend you review my post with detailed photos on page 1 of this thread where I finally found the source of my very intense and troublesome wind noise and development of a solution that has totally eliminated the noise. The source was the drivers door seal as per my pics. I found this noise very deceiving and I can see how one would think it is coming from the windshield or the roof rails which was my suspicion for a long time, but eventually it was proven that the drivers door was the culprit. Luckily finding the problem was the hard part, once that was accomplished the fix is very simple - see page 1 of this thread.

My wife's 2012 Rogue has the wind noise problem as well. VERY annoying... and embarrasing when you have passengers in the car. I've come to realize over the past few years that Nissan is notorious for weak weatherstripping and flimsy upper door frames. Our 2009 Versa, now 2012 Rogue, and a friends 2008 Altima all have wind noise issues during high crosswinds. The noise comes from the same spot on all cars - the upper rear edge of the door frame.

It occurs on the leeward side of the vehicle during a crosswind due to the low pressure region that builds on that side. You can actually see the upper door frame pull away from the vehicle when the winds are gusting.

Has anyone here found a fix? My car is a Subaru Forester and the door frame seems to be built more rigidly. No wind noise at all.

While driving 65 or faster, very high pitched wind noise coming from the right rear of the car. Looked at how the panoramic sunroof was set into the roof, it is a couple of milimeters lower in the right rear corner, compared to the left rear corner. That could cause some wind turbulence as well, i,'m sure...
