I've read the different threads on the wind noise in the Rogue. I don't hear wind noise from the front windows or mirrors, however I am hearing wind noise from what appears to be the back of the Rogue, like in the cargo area. It's not windy outside per say, but when I'm driving on the highway at speeds of 40mph and faster, I hear a loud wind/road noise noise.

I've read that this may be coming from the spare tire well in the rear. Is there anyway to stop or lessen this noise? Should I tell my dealership? Can they/Will they even do anything about it? Is this a problem they can fix under warranty?

If they can't do anything to fix this, what about me getting some kind of foam insulation or something and trying to dampen this myself? Has anyone tried this or have any ideas?

Thanks!!

The only fix is insulation. It is pretty easy so you can do it yourself. The most popular (but not cheap) insulation is dynamat. I installed it in all 4 doors to remove the noise and it actually helped. I can feel the difference but this summer I'm definitely doing the roof with dynamat.

The spare tire well is very loud, tap it with your knuckles and it reeally echoes. If you wanted to determine if this was the source of the noise before spending money on soundproofing, why don't you take the tire out, throw a blanket or two in there, replace tire and see if you notice a difference. Just a quick test to try to nail down the source of the noise.
