I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a deal that includes a carbon fiber OEM style s13 silvia hood. So what?

Well, my long term goal is to drop a VH in the car using either the Mazworx or Xcessive kit (or some combination of the two - I'm not a fabricator). I'm curious to know if there will be any clearance issues.

On the one hand, sure it'll be nice to have a carbon fiber hood on the car before I can afford to dive into the swap (which could be a while). On the other, I don't want to tie up my money on something that isn't going to work out long term anyway.

I can only remember seeing one s13 silvia with a VH swap, but it was some turboed aussie drift car. I don't even recall if it had an OEM style hood on it or not.

I used the search, but came up empty handed. My internet connection makes going through everyone's project write-up's and looking for pictures quite painful.

Your input is greatly appreciated.

it will fit under the stock metal hood if you bend the back of it up about 3" or so to make it kinda a reverse cowl. i'll get some pictures up at some point

Thank you. Didn't end up going with the CF hood anyway. Looks like I'll be hacking up a hood.

it can fit pretty well with the suports removed and bending the hood in the middle!

Now that's not too bad at all. However, I have 4 extra 240sx hoods laying around I'll probably convert one to a cowl-type Silvia hood.
