Hey fellas. I'm ready to install my old gear into my s14. The crusty stock speakers suck balls. I don't have a job at the moment and I'm tryin to save all my money for my move to houston in january. Anyhow I have a new spool of lightening audio 8 ga wire layin around that I never used for anything. And I was just wondering if it would be ok to use it for my big ol amp. I got a PPI 5 channel. I plan on hookin up my 2 pairs of quart's components for the moment. So would the 8 gauge carry ok for just the speakers and no sub? The amp is rated at 50x4 and 400x1. But if I don't run a sub should I be ok? thanks guys

8 gauge should be ok, 50x4 should only be drawing max of about 40 amps and you're prolly only looking at about 12 ft. from battery to amp... here's a chart that i found: http://www.mmxpress.com/technical/wiregauge.htm
