Ok so my buddy wants to sell me this turbo. Its a precision turbo model THF3 76W. its a T3 good to 585hp but i can't tell if it will bolt up to my elbow. what elbow would i need? Does anyone use one? how bad would lag be? i have a built bottom end what else would i need?

Thanks for the help.

if you have a sr20, it wont fit on the stock manifold, you need a top mount manifold flanged for a t3, you also need a manifold with a flange for a external waste gate. this turbo doesn't run a internal gate.

as for elbows, i assume you mean for your inter cooler piping and intake, you will need to fab up new ones. as for the down pipe thats gona be custom as well..

as well as if you need built internals. if you run alot of boost yes, conservative boost under 15psi on a sr20 then no.. as for what you would need, possible cams to get maximum efficiency at higher rpms...

So with say 720cc injectors z32 mafs, and maybe stage 2 cams plus built head (valves, springs, lifters, and headgasket) throw in the power fc and aT3 manifold. I have cp pistons eagle rods, Greddy frontmount. What would I be looking at. The thing is i don't what alot of lag which I know this will probably give me. And going from a t25 to this would be a huge step. Help...ha. Should I buy or sell? he is selling it for 700 i think the site says it retails for 900.

you need to find out what the specs on it is.. it looks like a t3/t4 . doesnt look like like anykind of special turbo, my guess is that it 50 trim..

its probably good for around 450-500 whp on hi boost. as for lag time, i would say you would start spoolin around 3k and make full boost around 3600, and it will take you to redline, hard to tell tho w/o any specs or comp. maps for the turbo...

as for 700.. i wont pay 700 for it, i could get some thing way bigger or more efficent for that price as for 900.. you can get a decent gt35r for that price why would some one but a t3/t4?

good luck

Have you tried looking at the compressor maps for your turbo? That will tell you everything you are asking...

Meh. Define lag. Us SR owners are spoiled by dual ball bearing tiny turbos so we think full boost in the late 3k/early 4's is horribly laggy but a lot of OEM turbo cars see full boost around there stock. Lag is a relative term. Yes it will be a lot laggier than a T25.

Yeah that's not very helpful unless someone has first hand experience with the same/similar turbo. I couldn't find a compressor map for it though so you'll probably have to make due with ballpark ranges or guesstimates or wait until someone who has used it posts up. Good luck.

If its anything close to what im running t3/t04e 60 trim .63 a/r exhaust housing.... i make full boost around 4200ish rpms (18psi) Also you will need a custom downpipe for that a peak boost manifold and downpipe might work but you would have to change the flange on the down pipe. If not i hope you can weld.

If you want to know more about my setup email me at [email protected] or talk to me on aim guitarist102
