Will these staggered rims work on a set of tires that I have? And also, will I need any kind of spacers?

17"X8" -- -- 17"X9" respectively

By the way, I have a full set of Continental 225/45ZR17 tires in my storage shed. My car is a '90 240sx coupe (with KYB GR2 shocks and TEIN springs).

The tires will fit on the rims.

We have no idea if they will fit your car or need spacers since you dont list the offsets. Im guessing they are high, so I'll take a stab at it and say 15-20mm spacers all the way around.

The wheels are Sportmax 006's right? Theyre +35 offset. IMO it doesnt make sense to run staggered wheels with the same sizes tire. Try 17x8 +35 all around. You could do 17x9 all around, but the fronts will definitely need a spacer.

For the front, 215/45 tires are recommended with coilovers. I think the 225/45's will be fine with springs/struts.

If they are +35, run 20mm spacers all the way around.

Running the same tire size on staggered rims makes more sense than staggering tires on the same sized rims. In short, th front sidewall will be almost square with the rim, but the rear will have a decent stretch. This allows you a more progressive feel when approaching the limits of grip with the rear end.

But if you can get 17x9's all the way around, I would go that route.

the offset for the rims is +35mm. Sorry I forgot to mention this figure. I don't want to waste anymore money than I should because I received those (FREE) tires from work. So if I get this staggered set along with the tires I have, everything should be good....while using 20mm spacers for the rears?

Uh...why would you run spacers just to run spacers? A 17x8+35 doesn't need a 20 mil spacer by any means to fit. Running a spacer when you don't need to is like putting lifts in your shoes when you're already 6'8". Running an overly wide spacer is also folly. You're adding weight, effectively reducing offset, reducing wheel rate, increasing inner edge loading on any tire you do run, and messing with your scrub radius....

Crikey. Just get a set of wheels that fit without spacers, and fall within acceptable specs for the car you drive.

Also, yues those tires will fit, but you'd be better off, and have a much etter balanced handling car with equal rim/tire combos F/R and be able to rotate tires for better wear.
