So i wanted to dress up the front end a bit. I painted the top piece of the grille black. The bottom is just black tape at this point. What do you guys think? I also want to either make my lights clear corners, or take that stupid amber piece out and tint it solid black. I don't know though, I don't want things to start looking too busy... I like a clean look. Also considering putting a polished mesh grille behind the stock one, but once again- not trying to make things too busy.

oh my god you guys know my license plate number now!

back end looks nice but the front end noooo, it would nice if its just the stock colour as ur truck is very clean looking, looks like new, u could have probably gotten a better effect with a bullbar, halfbar

Sorry man, but that's a definite yuck. Go with the clear corners though! I think I might try that sometime. The mesh grille might look good on that color. I thought about getting one but it probably wouldn't look good on silver paint.

yeah guys you've confirmed my fears. That upper piece was badly scratched and needed to be painted anyway, but when I do the bumper (which also needs to be painted) I think ill take it all back to the stock gold. Thanks for the honest input.

yeah keep the stock gold, and definately clear corners, especially on a gold q it looks great. I dont know what your so scared of regarding the mesh grille, it would look great on any colour. if your fear of it looking too busy than that would be shown on a black q more than anything. Theres also billet grilles available for yours but those cost 3x more (but are much better material)

My mesh grille served a purpose over the winter, on my bumper vent area i installed the mesh as well and a huge rock went in the upper part and bent the mesh pretty far back, i noticed this and fixed it, for sure it saved internal components like my rad. Fueler has a grille like mine but black to serve a purpose off road, its not just an aesthetic thing

yeah I've seen the billet grilles- personally not a fan. And i think you're right, the mesh will look good with the gold, Ill do it as soon as I get around to refinishing the bumper. The front end should look nice with clear corners, fresh gold paint, and the grille.and ps thanks for convincing me to tint the tail lights- I'm real happy with the way they came out.

The only thing I would change on the front bumper is I would start the black at the inner most corner of the headlights and then work down to the kink in the front bumper near the bottom. Give it more of a \__/ look instead of a |__| one. Also, did you think about making the part under the plate black too - from kink to kink.

I think the amber circles in the fogs look worse than the amber corners. Yes, those may be your turns, but I'd much rather clear up the egg yolk looking fogs first. If there is a way to remove the amber lens and replace the bulb with those that have a silver coating, but still flash amber, that is what I would do first. The amber corners don't stick out as much IMO.

i agree with what he is saying above with the\__/, but then u won't be able to stop there u might have to do something with the rest of the truck to justify the front taking into consideration the contours of the truck, u missed one under your grille and then u missed ur hood contour too

i would paint back ur whole grille except for the part where ur hood line is leave the black to add some dept, and if u leave black on the bottom u have to go all the way down, either way u would have to do something with the hood, like mural or something not ur basic racing stripes, it good u are trying something different but ur truck screams luxury

Yeah bring it back to all gold. No idea why the Nissan Titans/Armadas put chrome in the middle of the painted bumpers.

it looks like you needed a new grille and got one at a junkyard that wasn't the right color, and didn't bother painting it.

Go back to all gold.

Its $70 in Ny state i believe, $110 here, I keep mine in my door pocket so if i see a cop I throw it up on the corner of the dash, Ive yet to get hassle over it.

Ive seen a few pathy guys throw it BEHIND the grill, and its almost invisible

So wait. Are you saying that keeping my freshly sharpened skates , and 4 hockey sticks in the car is a bad idea? What could be so dangerous about sharp steel and carbon fibre flying around my car?No more dangerous than the 20-30 loose pucks and golf balls rattling around there I'm sure!

You know what Steve Mcqueen said in 'Le Mans' right? " This isn't just a thousand to one shot. This is a professional bloodsport. And it can happen to you. And then it can happen to you again."

lol i hear ya on that one, definately watch my braking distance now, it wasnt reduced much but i can tell. Any larger and it would be just stupid to not get a brake upgrade

Well yeah Im just comparing it to I believe the 00ish+ explorer where I seen a test done, the stock brakes stopped the car from 70mph in like 120ft, then with 20" american racing (and they were a light rim), braking distance went to something like 170ft

You think, oh well 50 feet isnt alot I can manage, s***, 50 feet is like 3 cars lengths, how many times have you had to slam on the brakes and been just inches from the car ahead, imagine if your car needed that extra 50feet...

Just somethin to think about

Ya I dont get hassled at all on the qx4 without it on, and Ive been without it for about 18 months now. But in my Crx, I think I got 2 tickets within 2 months and finally gave in and built a side bracket for it so it didnt block the intercooler.

Just looks tits without it
