Serial numbers are unique to the individual unit, so what you propose would not be a serial number.Towncivilian wrote:The serial number may be per a specific year or specific revision of the ECU, so it is still feasible.
I'd look for another ECU from a seller who can list the VIN or exact part number of the ECU. Also scour your local junkyards of course.Alkorahil wrote:Well Mr Nissan was not totally helpful.
I can say It is for a 01 Pathfinder, no idea though if it is 2wd or 4wd, AT or MT.
Since they are both for 01 models but not the same number I am going to say its not 100% the same, but may work. The differences between the variations would mostly be about idle speed the ECU is set at, though there may be inputs one reads and the other will not...really only one way to find out....
If this was a free part I would plug it in and see what happens, since its $$$ involved you are rolling the dice.
Too bad the seller doesnt have a VIN, that would make this way too easy!!!!
Usually the ECUs have a part number stamped on it as well somewhere on the face or edge, should start with 23710-XXXXX
