Hello, I have a 90 240sx with 150,000 miles. I was having problems when I was driving under 3000 RPM's or not at heavy throttle. The car would jerk, shake, and just run very bad. I read that if you took off the MAP sensor and clean it that it might fix that problem. I did and it ran great with any problems. I decided to clean the throttle body with cleaner and then I had a stupid of using the cleaner in some vacuum lines around the IAA Valve. Don't ask me why I did that but I sprayed the stuff in 3 hoses in the back of the intake. I am sure I got some cleaner in the IAA because now It idles at 1350 RPM and I cannot get it lower with the adjustment screw. When I put the AC on it does not make the idle go up. And when I come to a stop after I take my foot off the clutch the idle will drop to 500 RMP and every 20-30 seconds it will rise to 1000-1350 with the AC off. What can I do to fix this problem? Can I take the IAA valve off and clean it with the correct cleaner (whatever that is) or did I screw it up and it needs to be replaced? I tried to take the sensor plug off to adjust the idle put I could not get it off. The had 2 plugs aroung the IAA and I was not sure which one to take off to try to adjust the idle. ANY SUGGESTIONS?Thanks,Michael

There's no reason it would harm anything. There may have been some cleaner still in the lines or you may have dislodged some funk only to have it clog something up down the line.

Hello, Could my problem be with the TPS sensor? When it is at a high idle I cannot get it to lower even if I turn the idle screw all the way in it will stay at 1200-1500 until I drive and come to another stop while pushing the clutch in and it will drop to 500 RPM and then climb to 1200-1500. I do not have any vaccum leaks that would raise the RPM's. Any suggestions?

THANKS

the two plugs on the iacv have staples that you have to remove. find another plug with staple and practice removing. regardless, you dont remove these plugs to set idle. i think it is the tps you remove. you have not damaged the iacv. remove iacv and clean with carb cleaner.
