Well, i have been reading this forum for awhile, and well i have planning on turbo charging my KA24DE, soon, but well, i hav already seen to very well known KA-t owners, blow there rods,(very sorry for that), anyways, i just wanted to make sure that iam in the safe side, I just changed out my head gasket, with other as well. This is what iam planning on doing to my KA

T25/28 manifoldT25 turbo from SRmanual boost controllerApexi SAFC version 1, thanks to people that had helped me get the diagramsr20det intercooler with all pipings,sr bov3in down pipegauges for air fuel/ boost370cc injectorsoil lines return/feedOil pan drilled

Well on that setup iam hoping to atleast make 240 to the wheels, iam just making sure iam on the safe side for the rods. The motor is flawless, thers only one problem, the power steering pressure hose, ad gotten a pintch. Iam going to be getting another KA and builing that up on the side with T3 turbo etc.. But iam just making sure. So if anyone can input that would be very much helpful. Thanks a million, oh by the way its a 93 coupe, just incase if that means anyhting,

as long as the engine runs fine and has no problems(compression, leaks...etc) you should be fine with the stock pistons and rods....those can still stand 300hp.(don't try pushing 300rwhp out of that turbo or the injectors though)

Your motor will be fine, I am at 373 whp and doing fine. I ran an unopened block for nearly 3 years at a bunch of different boost/tuning levels and never had one single problem, 210 to the wheels (TUNED) ain't nothing for the KA.

You'll be pushin' it awfully hard to get 240 to the wheels off that setup.. 370cc's will be flowin' pretty well by then. They reach their max around 290ish though

So it wont harm the rods, or get it into any pressure, that it cant take

yeah unless you pump up the base pressure I'd stick under the 230 mark with 370 injectors, other then that your set up sounds fine, the thing that is limiting in your setup is the injectors, I know every one seems to think that the stock pistons can take 300 (IMO) but that is getting close to there limit, too close for MY comfort, also at about 18ish psi that turbo is gonna be a heat pump if you ever got bigger injectors to run that much boost. The stock rods can handle up words of 325hp (but that is what I consider to be the limit), I don't think they really take more then that well over time or with server abuse or high rev's, since this is your current and maybe only car it needs to be reliable, I personally wouldn't go over ~10 psi. I'm betting your bottom end could stand up to it just not the injectors. I do however feel that if your building a spare KA on the side will get your familiar with the KA and this in the mean time setup would probably be a great way to "get usat" boost and trouble shooting the KA. good luck with your endeavors Peace, Pat
