Will this tool work on the front calipers: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp ... ir=catalog ?

I already got the Craftsmen version of this tool (because Sears is closer). But before I attempt the job I would rather be sure. Lokim I bet you will know for sure!

Simple C-Clamp on the old pad always works for me. :gapteeth:

Yep, what yoda said. Simple large c-clamp, squeezing in the old pad, will push both pistons in at the same time.

Ditto on the c-clamp - no special tool required.

I've used the special tools as well as just a C-clamp and I'd have to say that the C-clamp is just as easy.

Actually, I've done it by hand without even a C-clamp before. I put my 19mm wrench across the piston, put my palms against the wrench, grabbed the back of the caliper with my fingers and squeezed. It worked to push the rear caliper piston back in, although somewhat slowly. It's defnitely not the right way to do it because you could potentially push it back in unevenly and cause binding. All I can say is that it worked for me. :gapteeth:

If you are looking for cheap quick way to push pistons back in using tools you already have, a pair of channel lock pliers applied to the old inserted pad work also. Proper tool works as designed, but their are cheaper alternatives that will get the job done!
