so in my totally uneducated guess, is that yes, they are very soon to be classics if not classic already.
i look at it from the point of view of looks. it just unmatched, and remains fresh up to this day, It turns heads every time, and some people simply won't believe that this car is as old and 22 years old.
Nissan did a very good thing with this car in design terms, and engine and everything really. You got a reliable engine capable of huge power. you got the looks. in my book this car is as close to a perfect package as they ever came. sadly somewhat unappreciated and overshadowed by other 90's japanese performance cars.
Good point. I guess you are talking about the RX-7 (FD) and Supra (MKIV). Especially the Supra that has probably reached "cult" status thanks in part to movies such as The Fast and the Furious. I mean, any Supra in top shape starts at 25K around here and you'll see much more folks gather around a clean stock or modified Supra than around a clean stock or modified 300ZX at any given car fanatic gathering. I see the madness that occurs when a guy pulls up in a Supra while my clean and stock 300ZX barely gets any notice except from other Z owners.
I guess the 300ZX is and will remain a classic for the fanatics that we are but I doubt it will become to the "masses" in 10, 15 years from now the cool '90s Japanese sports/GT car to own, this title will probably still be own by the Supra.
