It seems, though, every day that more and more people want more and more gadgets on their phone.
It seems that I'm one of only a few people left who wants their phone to be just a phone. I do not have, nor will I buy, a camera phone, MP3 phone, or video phone.
Unlike computers, every feature you add gets integrated on the same board. It's not a separate board. So if one thing fails, the whole thing fails. I'd rather have 1 function to worry about breaking than 4.
While we're on this subject, I am REALLY concerned about build quality of the iPhone. Apple has not had the kind of quality control or build standards that they used to years ago. iPods, lately... particuarly ANY version with flash memory like the Shuffle or Nano, have an abnormally high failure rate as far as MP3 players go. the iPhone, if I remember correctly, is flash memory also... I'm afraid all these people are paying $500 or so for a phone that is going to break in 9 months.
(and yes, I HAVE broken 3 Apple iPods over the course of 2 and a half years, with no heavy use on any of them. This is why my current MP3 player is a Samsung)
