Will the front exhaust pipe from a 2+2 fit on a two seater?

The second, smaller, pipe that is attached to the front exhaust on my passenger side appears to be missing. There is a metallic filter placed over the hole and I can fell exhaust air coming through it. The person I got the car from said it has an exhaust leak and I'm just going to get this is where it is coming from.

I want to replace the pipe if possible. The nearest junker only has a 2+2 on the lot so I was wondering if this part would fit. I know the exhausts have different lengths, but I was wondering if this component of the car was the same.

On a NA you have the exhaust manifolds, then you have a longer section that houses the cat converters or a test pipe, then you have a mid section that is either an H or X, then you have the axle back.

It sounds like you are describing the cat converter section, which is the same between 2+2 and 2+0. I believe there are differences between 5spd and auto though.

See if you can post up a pic so we can be sure what you are talking about.

The red arrow shows the part in question.

I seems like it fell out, and it's left a big hole.

BTW. What wheel/suspension are you running. Those are nice.

Those are the air injection hoses. Your aiv system was probably deleted halfway but you mentioned it was there on the other side? They should be the same between the two models as far as I know but only 1990 models have them.

Thank you, thats my old setup now but they are piaa sportmesh wheels and I'm dropped on jic coils with powertrix adjustable arms

It's kinda strange. One side has the tubes gone. The drivers side is still hooked up. I found a piece of cut piping in the trunk, so I'm guessing someone started trying to remove the system but couldn't figure out how to plug the hole. Right now the exhaust tape that was on it has given out completely, and there's only a couple millimeters worth of pipe to try to use to remove it.

ATM it's looking like I'll have to save up and just by an after market downpipe, because none of the junkers in my area have Z's on their lots (the 2+2 I was looking at went FAST).

I'm sure a muffler shop would be able to weld a patch on it for you
