Will the Auto Climate Control A/C Module work?

Will the auto climate control a/c module work on a car that came with the manual a/c module or is it a completely different system? I would imagine that you would need a temperature gauge installed on the car, so probably not, but it would be nice to have that instead of the "standard" one. I'm looking to replace mine anyways because it's missing some buttons, and was wondering if it was a simple upgrade.

by the way, if anyone has a spare one lying around, i'm interested in purchasing!

Nope, need the auto HVAC control unit as well, at a minimum.

Can anyone tell me where i can find a HVAC control unit for a 1990 300zx, automatic, not a turbo. The dealership says i need a new one, however, Nissan no longer carries it and they don't have a part number to give me. thanks
