thanks for the infophilipa_240sx wrote:Depending on model year, the Murano was available with factory chrome wheels. There aren't many out there... at least not that I have seen.
As for offset, it's not that uncommon to adjust offset to fit a particular wheel or to get a certain look. +5mm is not a big deal in my book. Heck, I run Altima steel rims during winter with a +45 offset... never had problems.
Anyway, the Murano wheels with +35 offset will actually push the wheels out a bit... I punched the values into an offset calculator:
Compared to OEM 17x7 +40, the Murano wheels will be 11mm or 7/16" further out (closer to the edge of the fender). The interior clearance (from the strut) is almost the same... 1/32" inch outwards. This will give a more 'flush' appearance to the wheels. Tire clearance is a non-issue as the Rogue has huge wheel wells. The only downside to all of this? You have to stick with the same 225 width tire... you cannot go wider on a 7.5" rim width.
I still like the wheels Eddnog put on his Rogue. IMHO very classy, and just enough rubber (sidewall height)... no 1/2' 'rubberband' look here.

judging from the info we're gettin from philipa, i guess it doesnt matter. so if you want your rims popping out more, go with the lower offset. if you want your rims more tucked in, go with the higher offset.dolbydj wrote:So if I was to get an 18 inch rim, would it be better to get a 38 or 42 offset?
are you sure i can mount 235mm tires on a 18x7.5inch rim? someone earlier on this thread sayz it cant be done with a 7.5inch wide rim. 225mm is max? yea sure i would love to go 235/50/18's but i dont want to compromise the tire/tread life.let me know what u guys think.thanks againskholla wrote:If you want to go with 18's then 225/55-18 would work but I would recommend going with a wider tire and possibly a wider wheel.
I want to go with 19's and run 245/45-19 tires just like Ed but to cut down on wheel and tire costs I'm going to go with 18's and 235/50-18 tires. The sidewalls on the 245/45's is 4.3" and on the 235/50's is 4.6", so the look other than the 1" difference in the wheel size will be close but with a bit more tire (which is always good for comfort). Take a look at the VW Tiguan and BMW X3, they both come with optional 18" wheels and 235/50-18 tires, I think the tire/wheel size is a good compromise of style, performance and function.
