not sure if this is in the right place ... but i recently purchased a 97 q45 and the previous owner chopped the stock springs and the car rides like hell. I'm not in the market to purchase coilovers cause of the price and the insurance and rsr springs take way to long to come from japan. So i was wondering if a set of tanabe df210 or gf210 springs from a kouki s14 would work. any help would be great and if some1 is riding on those i would like to know how the ride is. thanks

tom

I wouldn't use those as they are designed for a much lighter car. The Tein springs are sourceable locally as are the Espliers. There was a fomer member (he got booted for being politically incorrect) that sold me the Teins and there is another guy that was trying to get people buying the Espelirs (sp). I forgot his name but he was slamming the Teins as designed for a V6 level car but they worked out great for me.

If your car still has the original struts while you have everything torn apart you should consider replacing the struts/shocks. There is a site that was selling the KYB SR Specials for around $500 bucks, wish I'd book marked it. I bought a set for over $700, the combo of the Teins and KYB's are amazing as long as you do not mind a tight ride, but eliminates all body roll and makes the handle way better. At least go for some stockers

I'd for sure not do any S13 or S14 springs, that car weighs 500 lbs less. If your looking for the cheapest solution find a lower mileage Q in a junk yard, perfer the Touring springs over the standard as they are a little stiffer.

I have an extra set off my wife's 2000. Email me if interested as they are not listed anywhere.

i have searched for the teins and espilar... but have found nothing. i have seen that some users have put on the s14 springs i didn't hear complaints and they are readily available and cost effective. the gf210 come with a 5.5kg spring in the front and 4.0kg spring in the back and even with the added weight of the q ... they should ride at least better than chopped springs

That argument is analogous to saying dried caca must taste better than fresh caca.

Sure glad the engineers at Infiniti dont think like that!!! Brian{Maxnix} offered you the best, correct option in his offer to sell you his springs off his 2000Q......jump on it, swap them in, and forget about it!!!!

Very nice, thanks for the update, what was the 95% about? anything special to make them work? how much drop did you get from them? these cars coould fit super swampers under the wheel wells at stock ride height...

Can you post a picture of how they look? I am thinking of doing the same thing.

I wouldn't wait for a reply. This topic is 13 years old, and it's the last time the OP was on the forum.
