Will painting only both doors look ok?

Hi,
My white 1990 300ZX was hit twice in a period of 3 days. Both doors were damaged and insurance companies says they need to paint only the doors and it will match the rest of the car. Friends say it will look a mess and the doors will not match the rest of the car. Any suggestions? Can I force the insurance companies (yep, two different companies involved) to paint the entire car?

Look forward to comments and suggestions.

Jerry

First of all, should only be you dealing with your insurance company. They should go after the other company involved, that's what you're paying insurance monthly for.

Painting both doors is fine, as long as they can blend it. Be sure they don't paint over the grey mirror triangles. If it's a pearl white it'll be a b**** to match.

I think he means he was hit by two different people.

Regardless, still go through your own insurance company. I have experience with this, and looking back, wish I had just used my own insurance company. Single point of contact, someone who knows the insurance industry, arguing for you; their client.

Your rates won't go up if it's not your fault, because your insurance company isn't paying for the damage.

I agree with BigTDogg about having your own insurance oversee things, but in my experience you may also want to check out the repair shop yourself with a VERY critical eye, an be SURE to check out that shop's reputation with other shops.
When my car got hit awhile back the insurance co. gave me several local shops to choose from, and one that had a good reputation got the nod but I never checked them out further until disaster hit.
Turns out the shop was a venture with a family member that did NOT have the same standards as the original shop, which when I checked things out found that the shop I used had a bad rep while the original still had a great rep...and a visit to that original shop showed I should have checked things out thoroughly as they were FAR better visually, and their employees far more knowledgeable about fixing a Z32.

SO...stay involved because YOU are the only person who truly cares about your car, the others are simply doing business...
