Will paint stripper mess up tires?

I am planning on painting my wheels. I've read a thread about some aircraft stripper stuff at Walmart that does a pretty good job of stripping the old paint off the wheels. Would it be OK to leave my tires on and just spray the stuff all over my rims? Will it eat through my tires at all? Thanks.

Most likely, it'll destroy your tires -- aircraft stripper is some REALLY nasty stuff.

Well damn, that's not the answer I want to hear. Taking the tires off and on the rims is too costly just to give my rims a ****ty paintjob. I just bought some aircraft remover last night. I guess I could spray some on my old wheels and see if it eats through them. Has anyone else used it with their tires on?
