I have a 93 300zx NA.
I had a dead injector on cylinder #2. Pulled plenum, put in new plenum/fuel rail insulators. Changed out injector(on a budget, couldn't change all 6)
Did the plenum coolant and vacuum bypass. And ran all new vacuum/coolant lines where accessible Put back together, everything ran beautiful as it should. Let car warm to running temp, idle was as 800rpm as it should be, fuel pressure good, running temp same as before work was done. So that's good. Note-while doing this, I turned the car on/off several times to check for any coolant leaks. Everything is sound. Took it for a drive, ran great. Then took it to wash it since it had been under carport for a few days, was very dirty. Turned key, fire right up, then came home. Thought everything was great.
Now my PROBLEM: it won't start.
1) I have full power throughout the vehicle. Fuel pump primes, injectors spray, full dash panel lights up. Radio works, head lights/tail lights/interior lights, power door locks and windows all work.
EVERYTHING WORKS
BUT, I have no spark and the starter isn't turning over. It will not fire at all. I checked all 3 grounds, they are all good and tight contact.
Work performed on this car:
New TPS
Cleaned the IACV and HIAV
New fuel pressure regulator/fuel filter
Just changed spark plugs, have new NGK plugs from Z1 Motorsports. I get all my parts thru them.
Car is bone stock except for Megan racing type2 catback and down pipes.
I'm not trying to have a 1/4 mile car. I'm just trying to have a nice classy 300zx
In top notch running condition
Everything I have searched leads me to believe its the PTU that's gone out.
Like I said, everything on the car works as it should, I'm just getting no spark and starter isn't turning over

I'd greatly appreciate any input or opinions on this

Well I would say a ground is not hooked up. This happened to me and it was one ground near the fire wall and one on the drivers side up near the corner of the radiator. Not sure if you tripe checked all wires but there can always be one hiding...

All grounds are connected and tight. After a lil investigation, I found that the PTU sub harness is badly corroded. Z1 told me that sice everything else on the car functions, but just not turning over, it's the ground wire in the PTU harness not making contact. I messed with it a lil bit. And I noticed that its the original PTU unit and harness. And hasn't been relocated. As corrosion was the purpose of relocating it. So I went out late last night and this morning, it fired right up. But I went ahead and ordered replacement harness from Z1.
Car starts and runs fine now, but not taking any chances. Don't wanna be driving down the road and it cut off on me and leave me stranded.

So I talked to the previous owner. He replaced the PTU
I think I have it cornered between the PTU sub harness and the ignition/starter relay
