I searched a bunch of posts and it seems like people have had different experiences with the height level of their KA motor after installing the nismo motor mounts. Is there anyone here running the nismo mounts with a ka-t? I want to know if the mounts will cause problems with the manifold/turbo sitting to high or to close to the BMC. I dont want to spend 180 on mounts that will only cause problmes when I install my turbo stuff.

will be running an IAP manifold

I have nismo motor mounts with a KA-T and everything clears fine...(JGS log manifold, however). When I first turbocharged it, the engine had stock (old) motor mounts, but after changing them, everything still cleared fine-engine sat up a bit higher than it did before because they're stiffer and newer, but you should not have a problem; they only minimally (negligibly) change where the engine sits...

I have the nismo engine and trans mounts and they did change the position of the engine, it moved forward and up by approximately 1/2" each way. I did have a problem with the inlet of the fuel rail hitting a cross-brace on the hood. I actually had to cut a section out of the brace so it will no longer rub against it and wear a hole in the fuel rail. It's an after market rail, and I have no idea who made it because I bought it second hand.

That's the only problem that I encountered with the mounts......

i have the nismo mounts also. no problems with engine clearing hood. only problem i had was the top of my turbo touched the hood a bit. so i cut a bit out of the cross member.

i would have no clearance issues though if the motor was stock.

Only issues here is turbo hitting hood... but that's because when we designed myh mani the engine had barely any mounts left anyway.

Those of you who have had the Nismo motor mounts for a while, did they soften up over time or stay just as firm as at install? The reason that I ask, is that the car is pretty buzzy right now at around 2k rpm. I was wondering if that will lessen over time. Makes for a pretty good back massage but overall does not make for very pleasant driving.

I don't quite know if they get softer... I hope not... but I've already gotten used to it by know. Just my damn shift knob keeps buzzing... nothing I can't solve.
