I currently have coupe 19" rims on my sedan. I want to upgrade my suspension to 2004.5 + revised 350z shocks + springs, that will lower it 1" all around.

I am worried that when I do it, my rear tire will rub the wheel well. Tires are 245/40/19.

Anybody have experience with this or a similar setup, that can give me some insight?

I thought the revised suspension included the Springs and Shocks. Was there something else?

Are the rears inside, flush, or protruding from the rear?

If they are inside, then you should be fine, just have the metal folded inward.

If it's flush or protruding, then you just have to keep fat people and junk out of your trunk lol.

The wheels are flush so that's why I'm asking. When I lower it 1" it seems like it will be kinda close. I'm worried when I go over bumps or someone sit in the back it will rub.

should be just fine

I'm still lookin for some rims for my car, but overall tire diameter should be the same.

I'm sitting on the 350z suspension and no problems with rubbing. Part of the tire will disappear but with this suspension being a bit stiffer you shouldnt have any rubbing at all.

I never have...

Yes, overall diameter is the same, but the rim is wider by 1.5"... of which most goes to the outside towards the fender.

Regardless, I will give it a shot and let you all know.

i have a 2004 sedan. i lowered it about1inch1/2 all around. i have 255/40/19's in the bac and 245/40/19's in the front. i experience no rub whatsoever, even on sharp fast turns, or speedbumps. you should be well off wth the 245's . hope this helps!!!! ill post som pics up so can see.

I hope you are right

Can you give me the width and the offset on your wheels? My rear wheels are 8.5 and 33mm offset. They stick out 26mm (~1") more than the OEM wheels.

Thanks

depending on your camber after the suspension install it may rub, it may not. If it does, a simple fender roll will solve the problem or run a different size tire.. 245/35.

I actually dont know the offset but they stick out a good amount, they are 255/35/19. youll have no problem with rubbing tires in the wells.

So I got me some 2005 350z shocks and I put them on a few days ago.

First of all, the looks alone make it worth it. I have the 19" Coupe rims and with the car lowered 1" it looks soooo much nicer. I would post pictures but I don't feel like going through all the trouble =D

Secondly, I was concerned about rubbing. There's no rubbing at all, although I haven't had any fat chicks in my back seat yet

Thirdly, handling has improved so much over OEM shocks. The car is so much more responsive and there is a lot less body lean in the rear when you corner. Huge improvement.

I would recommend this setup to everyone with a sedan.

The car should have come with this setup OEM... at least the 6MT which is the "sporty" version.

My 06 sedan came with the sport package as all 6MT's did in the sedans. I think the 05 and newer sport packaged came with the same springs. I would like ot lower my car about 1" too but i have this stupid enterence into my driveway that my car would rub the front bumper every time.

the 19's gave me a little more clearance and it is perfect for that.

I love the 19's but they look the best when you are going about 80mph and you can see your own reflection in another car. then you really know how hot they are!
