Will my Ronal Rims Fit for Winter Set-up?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I know it's only August. But I just got a new 2015 QX50, and I have a set of beautiful, high quality Ronal 16" rims that I used as the winter set-up on prior car (G35 Sedan Sport 6-speed manual). So I need to decide if I should post the Ronal rims for sale, or would they fit on the QX50 (with different tires of course).

I' know all of the sites like Tire Rack only give 17" and 18" options for winter packages for the QX50.

But on the other hand, the 2008-2010 EX models came standard with 17" wheels, and that it was only 2011 and later that the base OEM wheel went to 18". So I'm thinking if 17" was standard for 2008-2010, that 16" (minus one) should easily fit, and that unless they made the callipers bigger for 2011+, it should still work for 2015 OX50.

Of course, I could just try and see if the 16" Ronals fit, but thought I'd ask here first if anyone has tried 16" rims for winter set-up.

Thanks.

Well, my dealer has offered to test the fit of my 16" Ronals for me (although I usually do the winter/summer change myself, it will be nice to have the dealer test the fit for me).

I'm starting to think that they will fit just fine.
  • The rims fit my old G35 Sedan (Sport 6mt), eventhough Tire Rack doesn't show 16" as an option on the G35 Sedan. And the QX50 is essentially the G35 Sedan, but higher.
  • 17" used to be standard OEM rim for EX, so 16" would just be minus one.
  • 215/70R16 tires would be less than 1% off from OEM 18" and 19" tires.
  • Noticed that Nissan Rogue which is very similar in dimensinos to QX50, has 215/70R16 as one of the OEM sizes.
Will post results after I had a chance to test the fit of the 16" Ronals at the dealership (hopefullly within one week). Ronal are top quality rims and hard to find now in North America (as Ronal no longer distributes after market wheels here, focusing instead on supply OEM wheels and after-market in Europe). So if possible I'd like to keep them for the QX50 as winter rims instead of selling them for a fraction of their value. I have the 19" wheels that come with the Premium package on the car now.

Here's pic of the Ronal rim:

Tested at the dealer; 16" doesn't fit. Oh well, I'll have to put these up for sale. Too bad because Ronal Rims are hard to find and they are the best you can buy.

Will post Ronal rims and Michelin X-Ice 205/65R16 tires to classified soon for Local (Toronto area sale). [Will be willing to sell rims and tires separately]
