I got my new altima and joined the forum. Love the car and the forum. Lots of great information.

My question is if I do springs and intake on the car will it void the warranty?

Anyone have any insight?

Andy

You will only void the warranty on what may be affected and only if the dealer can prove it. Like if you hydrolock because of your intake, they will notice and you won't be getting a new motor for free. If your dampers get premature wear and blowup they will notice too. For the intake, if you get lots of rain just get a hydrosheild as extra security (but since we only have short ram intakes, I wouldn't worry about the water getting there) and for the dampers they shouldn't have a problem since the eibach springs are well designed .

Andy, any vehicle warranty for a dealership(company) is a financial burden / liability. As such, they will do anything to end it prematurely.

Check with your local dealer before customizing (from a legal standpoint, get it in paper / signed to have value).

I would say it is not necessarily a liability for the dealership, but more so for the manufacturer. The dealership gets reimbursed for their labor charges. Now if some dealerships shy away from performing any warranty work because of the paperwork involved, then they are hurting their service department, existing customer base, future sales, and more importantly their bottom line (as well as the manufacturer's reputation, QC, etc).
