Will manual ECU work with auto 240?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I just finished rebuilding my SOHC 240 but i am having problems getting it started. The car is an auto right now and it did not come w/ an ECU when i got it. My frd gave me one for a manual so i just wanted to know if that could be my problem starting the car or if its something else. I hear the starter working and everything but the car does not turn on.

No it wont start up, i dont think so manual ECU doesn't recognise it has the clutch in.its like having the auto ECU and a auto transmission and trying to start it in Neutral.

I might be explaning it wrong but i know its something like that.

i always thought that it won't even crank if its not in neutral. i still hear it crank over right now, it just won't start.
