Will Likely Pull the Trigger on 11/22

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Met with a very cool salesman at Infiniti dealership east of Seattle, WA. I'm on the VPP program, so they were upfront: nothing difficult about the deal as the prices are pretty much known. Since this has to come from dealer stock...one was there: 2010, Premium package, Bose/Around view, Nav, 18" wheels, Plat Graphite.

I'm crunching numbers tonight, wondering about trade-ins and all that crap when I receive an email from the sales guy. He tells me how they average trade-in values (based on three things: Nada, Edmunds, and the auctions). Seriously. I've never had this kind of treatment and I'm pretty damn pleased. The auctions are the only wild card here as it could completely undermine my other calcs. Whatever, I guess.

Not sure why I'm waiting. I think I just need to start the whole process and get this over with so I can drive that beauty.

Anyway, just sharing. So far, so good!

Whoa!...good luck to you and yes you are right the auction is the "got you"....but that will happen anywhere you go.I have a question about the VPP.....is there any way. legally of course, that one can get one of those "claim #"?...I have Ford cars and I can get the "family and friends" A plan pin # from a ford site..does Nissan allows that too?...I know that Nissan has A and B plan for employess and immediate family but they also has the C plan for family and friends and I was wondering if one can get the discount via the C plan.At Ford they give employees 3 pin# a year for family and friends. I am planning on buying an EX35 AWD Journey or Murano LE by October next year and I am just planning ahead. Thanks for listening..and enjoy the EX35 with the best of health.

First off, the car was sold after we left the dealership. It was an obviously busy Saturday night. That's what I get for not being ready.

For the VPP - no, no way to do it. The rules are very clear that the discount is extended to employees of affiliate companies, and, in fact, when you show up and start paperwork you need to show the VPP number that is given to you, plus some kind of ID to prove you work at that company. Sorry about that. In actuality, the part I found to be the best was that I didn't have to negitoate anything. The prices are all there and clear. What a relief. I hate that negotiating bs that gets pulled.

Good luck, all.

Just curious, what kind of discount does the VPP give you? How does it compare to the invoice price?

And for your situation, I'm guessing you can go to another dealer that has more EX's in stock and get the same VPP price?
