Im pretty sure I have leaky injectors on my 90 240, its running terribly rich, and the ECU is throwing a few codes, all related to the leaky injector code. Now the thing is, the car will cut fuel at a certain speed/rpm. Im not sure what the speed is because the speedo doesnt work, but its about 4500 rpms in 4th and 3500 rpms in 5th. Once it cuts fuel, I cant give it gas till it drops a few thousand rpms. Would this be a problem related to the injectors, or would it be something else? Im in the process of getting some injectors, but was hoping to find out before then.

I just bought the car last week, so im still trying to get everything in order, any help is much appreciated!!!

I honestly think it sounds like your ECU might be on the fritz. I say this because it sounds to me like your describing what its like to hit your rev limiter. try and find another ecu at a junk yard or temp swap a friend if they have a 240 (corresponding engine of course).

leaking injector will make your car run like its untooned at lower rpm and sound a little better at higher rpms so it doesnt sound like thats ur problem

Most likely it is your ECU. Check this thread. It is long but sounds like it covers your problem.

There were 3 reported fixes to this. 1 replaced his Speed Cluster and the other two replaced their ECU's.

Also posable that a bad ECU is causing your injector problem.

Well I had a spare ECU and I tried that, but that did nothing. Pulled the injectors today, and yap, need new ones, but agree that they shouldn't be causing this. Im going to try to get a new cluster and see what happens, and maybe a new speed sensor. Any other ideas?

Thanks for the posts guys!
