Okay, I was wondering if I could use the axles [3 sets of 2bolts]from the J30 (even 240sx) on the rear of the q45. I have a 2way LSD I'd like to put in my 95 q45 but is fitted for 240sx r200 with open differential half shafts (3 sets of 2bolts)

Thanks, Dan.

all nissan subrframes are pretty much identical.

If you had the differential, and matching axles, assuming the splines are the same in the rear hub, it should all bolt right up

If it has different splines, you would need to replace the rear hub's, Or see if the Q45 axles will fit on the new differential

hmm.. well z32 and j30 and 240sx all have the same splines on the rear hubs, so I'm hoping the q45 does also, I was just worried about the lengths of the axles. and no the q45 axles/output shaft flanges won't work because the axles are 6 single bolt pattern compared to 6 2bolt pattern and the output shaft flanges wont work because the q45 are viscous lsd compared to the 240sx open differential. I guess unless anyone has put a J30 or 300ZX lsd on their car and used the donors axles I am gonna have to spend a few hours in the junkyard test fitting lol.. damn you rainy florida!

thanks guys.

Wes is right about the rear hubs. The Q hubs are larger, it won't work.Trust me When I did my 4:08 I tried all kinds of options. The splines on the Q axle are larger. I'm not sure if the Q hubs are unique to the Q, I think they are. Good luck.

Several attempts at 4.xx gear swaps among the 90-96 Q45 (G50) owners have proven this is not the case.

And IIRC, there's 2 configurations of 6 bolt shafts - 3 pairs and 6 equally spaced. If that makes sense.

Dan, try calling Slim (450zxtt). He put a complete Q45 rear end ,axles, and hubs in his 300zx, to get the higher rear end (he wants 200 MPH). It seems that the 300zx subframe is a little narrower than the Q45 subframe, but it fit. You might have trouble going the other way, but some simple spacers between the axle shafts and differential should do the trick.

I have not done it, or tried anything like it, but he has.

I just bought a JDM Skyline 4.11:1 rear end for Lola. Now, I need to get a std, non TCS housing to do a gear swap, since the JDM rear end has no ABS sensor on the input shaft, but two on the output shafts. I may just disable the ABS anyway. I feel more comfortable doing my own skid control anyway.

Good luck and let us know what you find and do.
