Hey guys, Just wanted to verify or make sure the buddy club p1 racing ii rims (18x8) w/ 225/35/18 tires will clear:

30mm z brake upgrade - possibly w/ 12.6" rotor

and

current setup: kyb agx w/ eibach sportlinesfuture setup: coilovers (possibly k-sports)

I tried using the wheel offset calculator and it says it will be 15mm closer to the wheel housing, which I have no idea if that is too close.

Thanks

So I'm assuming the offset is +30?

To clear coilovers, it's gonna be close...

And to clear z-brakes... it depends on the spoke design. Are the spokes thin? Do they curve inward? Do the wheels have a lip?

o boy, i've been reading so much of the posts before I posted that I forgot to mention my offsets . Sorry about that.

Well, the 18x8's have an offset of +42mm look like this:

These are my current rims: 205/40R17 - +40 offset 17"x7" rim. So far, they clear my kyb+agx. I'm thinking these shouldn't have much of a problem. The spokes are also thing and curve out:

not a chance of fitting with coilovers (start at 7" wide +30 as a maximum...this will leave you 5~9mm clearance depending on coilover)and not a chance of fitting under the fender, after you put a spacer on there to clear the coilovers.

Hell I wager they won't fit on the car with OEM struts. Too wide to be set in so far.

The only thing they *should* clear is the edge of the cliff that you throw them off of, after you test fit and realize that they don't fit anything but honda

Sorry bro but proper wheels are either going to be 5zigen or something much more expensive.

It seems odd because I was using the wheel calculator in the FAQ and the tire diameter is the same for 15" stock rim specs (found on tirerack) and the 18" wheels - am I missing something because of the lip?

I was considering buying it because Loveless is close and they look pretty nice . Hey Loveless, so it was you that I got my FSM from, hehe. And Loveless, I'm gonna wait it out and see how high this baby goes, 600 sounds good; I'm cheap .

Well, coilovers will be going on at earliest 1 year from now, depending on how well my kyb's hold up and how bored I am after I finish installing all this other stuff lying around in my room .

z brakes are a definite, though, at longest 6 months from now. I'm thinking if these don't fit, and with the 7" +30 recommendation, my current 17" wheels may not fit either. Spacers here I come...

Why don't you just find wheels that fit correctly. Spacers are like a bandaid.

you'll need a l0wer offset than 40 to clear z32 30mm brakes. you'll need a 10mm spacer

actually i am running a 17x7 +42 w/ 205/40s and it clears tein coilovers fine. the only reason i have this size is because i got my wheels and tires for $550 brand new...

Obviously all coilovers do not have the same spring diameters... this is going to be a real big problem when people ask this type of question. Unless each of you goes out and measures his/her coilover, wheel width and offset, tire overall width, and available clearance, and report all that info into a sticky, we'll never be able to say "yes" or "no, it won't fit"

from the OEM 6" +40, to an 8" +42, you're 1"(25.4mm) +2mm closer to the suspension. 27.4mm closer. No way in hell that'll fit on my car.
