Will a Holset HX35 fit in the factory location on an rb20det? Im assuming we would need a spacer to space the housing away from a block a little bit but other than that it should fit correct?

It depends on a lot of things, but yes, some will. I'm not saying all of them won't, it's just there are a lot of different exhaust housing sizes out there, and some MIGHT cause the compressor cover to hit. If that is the case, buy a spacer. THey are cheap.

Also, are you asking about fitment in your car? You need to be more specific. I had a HX35/40 hybrid low mounted with a HKS manifold on my R32 GTSt, and I know there is room on a R33 for it to bolt in the stock location, but I suspect you are talking about a S chasis swap, right?

yea its an rb20det in a 240sx vert. Does the hks manifold move the turbo at all? Or does it place it back in the stock location and just add an external gate for the new turbo?

I believe the HKS makes your turbo a low mount instead of a side mount. Carl says this brings the compressor housing pretty close to the mounts, and running a reasonably sized turbo wont allow people with mount kits to run this manifold, only r32 x members.

yes, youll have to run a aftermarket w/g or rreweld the mount off the compressor housing, get extended studs that fit in the manifold and the ebay t3 spacer thats a half inch think, and youll also have to grind off a heatshield mount as well, good luck
