Before I go ahead and burn a data cd(basically a cd with mp3's that holds A LOT more songs than the average 90 min Cd), I want to make sure my factory radio(non-Bose) will play them. My factory radio in the last 2 company cars I've had were able to do this, but I'm beginning to see that that doesn't mean this will be possible in the Rogue LOL.

Sorry, none of the base model audio systems will play MP3 data CD's regardless of year.

To play MP3 data cd's you need:

- The BOSE system
- In Canada, the 'mid-line' audio system that is available on SL premium pack models.

thanks for the quick reply....I suspected this was probably the case, but hoping I was wrong. I really wish car manufacturers, mainly Japaneese, would get with the times. These are basic functions nowadays. My 2006 Chevy HHR was able to do this on the stock radio(company car btw, so very basic options), my 2008 Pontiac Vibe also was able to do this(also a company car), and now so does my 2010 Chevy Equniox(company car).

Haven't replaced the factory system yet, but this pretty much seals it's fate.

Well a portable mp3 player would hold the equivalent of hundreds of data cd's or even the whole music store. You could always use the aux-in as an option. Presently I use mine for surround sound for the dvd player.
