Hey everyone!!! I currently have an automatic engine, a ka24e, from a 1990 nissan 240sx, that was just swapped out with its transmission. However, I have another car that is a 5spd (a 1991, nissan 240sx) with a blown motor! I was wandering that if I was to drop the automatic's engine in with the 5spd transmission, would that work? Or would it be differnt? Please, any help would be appreciated. Thanks alot!!

The only thing is they have different pilot bushings. You'll need to take the one out of the auto engine and put a regular manual pilot bushing in. Otherwise, its the same.

Edit: and of course the flywheels are different too.

Final Edit:Just realized you are dealing with 2 different engines. '90 (SOHC) and '91 (DOHC). If you put the '90 into the '91 you would also have to change the powersteering, wiring harness, etc. This would be a lot of trouble. I'd recommend finding a used DOHC engine, no more than a couple hundred bucks.

Good luck.

I am running the auto motor from my wrecked 98 in my 95 s14. Works perfect. Like everyone said earlier make sure you get that steel auto transmission bushing out.
